A 74 year old woman was struck and killed by an SUV in the Bronx while walking at the intersection of East 141st Street and Beekman Avenue. The pedestrian Candida Acosta was struck by a gray Infiniti going southbound on Beekman Street.
Ms. Acosta was pronounced dead upon arrival at Lincoln Hospital. Neighbors said that the vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign and was traveling at a very fast speed. After the driver struck Ms. Acosta, it kept traveling until it crashed into an apartment building.
