Every year in New York sees countless accidents on the roads, involving vehicles of all kinds. Sadly, it only takes one person to make a mistake for a devastating crash to occur, endangering the lives of everyone in the vicinity. Furthermore, it is not only drivers and their passengers who are at risk during a car accident, but even pedestrians and other bystanders.

In Manhattan, one such incident left a woman seriously injured after she became pinned between a car and a light pole. The crash occurred one afternoon when one car cut off another, resulting in the second vehicle going onto the sidewalk. The victim’s legs were reported to have gone under the car, and a witness to the scene said that one leg appeared to have been ripped open.

The woman is said to have remained conscious during the accident, despite being in a condition described as serious. Doctors from a nearby clinic came to her aid while they awaited the arrival of paramedics. The victim was then quickly taken to a hospital. Meanwhile, details of the accident remained under investigation by police.

If you or a loved one have been hurt in an accident like this one, involving a car or other vehicle, you may be able to claim compensation for your injuries or at least pursue a payout from your insurance provider. It can seem like a lot to think about when you are recovering from the shock of an accident, but an attorney may be able to support you through the process. He or she can examine the details of your case and might be able to assist you if you decide to make a claim.
