In New York, the busy roads can often be dangerous. However, most road users are so familiar with the routes they use almost every day that they forget some of the risks. Unfortunately, a single unexpected event can cause widespread devastation and all this can arise from one small error made by anyone on the road. Furthermore, it is not only other drivers and their passengers who are at risk, but even pedestrians in the vicinity of the incident.

In Brooklyn, a fatal collision claimed the life of a 62-year-old woman in June 2015. According to reports, she was hit by a Cardella Trucking Company truck, despite having the walk signal. The 39-year-old truck driver has since been arrested and faces charges for causing the death of a pedestrian by failing to yield. This is a misdemeanor charge.

Surveillance footage revealed the details of this tragic incident. However, other truck accidents occur every day throughout the United States and it is not always easy for the victims to prove who was at fault. Unfortunately, all too many truck drivers pay too little attention to the roads or choose to drive when they are not in a fit condition to do so.

If you or a loved one have been the victim of a truck accident, you deserve justice. Yet you may still be overwhelmed by your recent experiences and it can be hard to know what steps you should take. Fortunately, an attorney may be able to take care of the details and assist you with your case. He or she can advise you about your options and might also support you if you decide to make a compensation claim or seek a payout from your insurance provider.
