Wrongful death suit after floor finish causes fire in New York

Accidents happen, and it doesn't take much to cause them. Fatigue, distractions or even lack of awareness can all be factors. Unfortunately, the repercussions of negligence can often be severe. Property can be damaged, and people may be injured or even die. One such fatal accident has been under investigation in New York.

While working in a Bronx apartment, the victim was caught in a flash fire that cost him his life. At the time of the accident, he was applying a lacquer sealant to a freshly sanded floor. This product was subsequently blamed for the fire. The Bronx administrator responsible for settling the victim's estate sued the victim's employers, as well as the building owner, for wrongful death as well as personal injury. These suits were dismissed by the court.

The sealant was labeled as flammable. However, there was no mention on the product that it was not legal for use indoors in New York. The administrator, therefore, filed a suit against the manufacturer of the product. Although the company argued that the victim should have been able to avoid the danger, it may be liable nonetheless.

Accidents like this one in New York have a huge impact on the families of the victims. It is always difficult to lose a loved one, but to do so as a result of the negligence of another is particularly painful. Aside from the emotional strain, sudden deaths can also be a financial burden on a family.

If you lose a loved one to a fatal accident, medical malpractice, or any other means resulting from another's neglect, you have the right to challenge those responsible. By following up the incident and seeking compensation for your losses, you can help to ensure that the fairest resolution is found for all concerned.
