Pedestrian struck in the Bronx

A 74 year old woman was struck and killed by an SUV in the Bronx while walking at the intersection of East 141st Street and Beekman Avenue.  The pedestrian Candida Acosta was struck by a gray Infiniti going southbound on Beekman Street.

Ms. Acosta was pronounced dead upon arrival at Lincoln Hospital.  Neighbors said that the vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign and was traveling at a very fast speed.  After the driver struck Ms. Acosta, it kept traveling until it crashed into an apartment building.

There are many accidents in New York city that happen as a result of drivers disobeying traffic controls and driving at an excessive rate of speed.  Rosenbaum & Rosenbaum PC has many years of experience handling accidents involving automobiles striking pedestrians.  If you or a loved one has been injured as a result of a dangerous driver please contact our firm to discuss your legal options.
