Car accident in New York leaves 3 hospitalized

Car accidents are a common occurrence in New York. Drivers who are not paying attention or are distracted by food or cell phones often cause them. In car accident cases, victims and their families may be financially compensated for their injuries. An owner of a Chinatown store may consider a civil remedy after a car crashed into his storefront.

In New York, a car hit the back of another car then proceeded to hit a curb and crashed into a store that sells items such as handbags and perfume. The owner's wife and another employee were inside the store at the time of the accident; they were both injured and taken to a nearby hospital. The driver of the other car suffered head trauma and was also taken to the hospital.

The injured and their loved ones may file a personal injury lawsuit for the financial consequences resulting from the car accident. They may receive compensation for the loss of wages, medical bills, rehabilitation and pain and suffering. In personal injury cases, the plaintiffs must prove that the driver of the vehicle was negligent. If a person fails to use reasonable care in operating a car, they may be considered negligent. The plaintiff has the burden of proving that the driver of the car was negligent, the driver's negligence was the proximate cause of the accident, the plaintiff was injured and the accident was the cause of the injuries.

For the three injured by the car accident, a personal injury suit may be a way to obtain a financial solution for their injuries. While compensation may not heal all of the damages resulting from a car accident, it may provide a sense of justice for the financial burden faced by victims and their loved ones.
