Three dead in White Plains crash

Three Bronx residents lost their lives on Oct. 29 when the vehicle they were in headed the wrong direction and crashed with another car.

The car accident happened a little after 11 p.m. on Saturday evening in White Plains along Mamaroneck Avenue. A 1991 Toyota Camry was said to be traveling southbound in the northbound lane when it struck an oncoming 1998 Lexus.

Because the vehicle was older, the Camry did not have air bags. Three of the four occupants were taken to White Plains Hospital where they later died. The fourth occupant of the car was taken to Westchester Medical Center. The 61-year-old man was originally listed in serious condition.

The 25-year-old driver of the Lexus was also injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment.

A number of different departments assisted with the accident, including the White Plains Police and Fire Department and off-duty members of the New Rochelle Fire and EMS departments.

There was preliminary speculation that the Camry may have driven in the southbound lane to avoid a roadblock. It was not immediately disclosed which of the four occupants of the Toyota was driving. The three that died were 65, 70 and 51-years-old.

Although it is not clear exactly how the accident happened, a number of different families are grieving the loss of loved ones. Those in New York that are involved in a car accident may benefit from the advice of an experienced personal injury attorney. The attorney may be able to determine the best course of action and seek any appropriate compensation for those injured in an accident.
